KWS FREJA is a sorghum-sudangrass hybrid with an early vegetative period and high growth rate. Plants reach a height of up to 350 cm, featuring an erect bush with moderate branching and a semi-open pyramidal ear containing full-grain kernels, which serve as an additional source of starch. Leaves are of medium size, narrow, with a dull gray midrib, while seeds are round and reddish-brown. Foliage coverage is approximately 60.8%, ensuring good photosynthetic activity and plant development.
The hybrid is distinguished by stable and high dry matter yield, which is maintained both under optimal growing conditions and in stressful situations. KWS FREJA is recommended for cultivation in warm soils of region 6 and can be used as a main or intercropping crop. The sowing rate is 250,000-350,000 seeds per hectare. To achieve maximum crop quality, harvesting is recommended no later than the milk ripening stage, with dry matter content in plants at the level of 33-35%.
The primary application of the hybrid is feed use for livestock, as well as biogas production. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and high productivity, KWS FREJA is a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable yield under various climatic conditions.
