AGAT is a mid-season sort-line hybrid of sorghum-sudangrass intended for obtaining green mass, hay, silage, and green chop. It is characterized by lodging resistance and is adapted for cultivation in the Middle Volga and Ural regions, as well as in the steppe zone. The vegetation period is 100-105 days, with about 58 days from germination to flowering. Plant height reaches 150-160 cm, and the inflorescence shape is flat with a semi-inclined position of the head, with a diameter of 21-23 cm. AGAT is a three-line hybrid with high oil content—about 49%. Shatter resistance is 20-22%, which affects the quality and ease of crop processing. The yield potential of the hybrid reaches 48 c/ha, with average yield of 81.1 c/ha in the Middle Volga region and 64.8 c/ha in the Ural region. Seeds have brown or white color, elliptical shape, and are used both for grain and for silage. The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to various diseases and stress factors. It has high resistance to lodging, drought, shattering, as well as to diseases such as fusarium, fops, rust, powdery mildew, gray mold, and white mold. Moreover, the hybrid is resistant to various races of the aphid parasite—vovchka. Thanks to these characteristics, AGAT is a reliable and productive choice for agricultural production in the indicated regions.
