Description Taifun
Taifun sugar beet hybrid, developed by MARIBO, is a high-yielding specialized diploid monoculm hybrid of type Z. It features a classic conical white root crop with enhanced storability, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. The plant has a well-developed dark green foliage and high sugar content, making it attractive for processing and sugar production.

Taifun is recommended for cultivation in the Central-Black-Earth and North Caucasus regions, and is suitable for medium and late harvest periods. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, including genetic resistance to rhizomania, cercosporosis, and rhizoctonia, as well as tolerance to afanomicet root rot and ramularia. Additionally, it is resistant to root rots and powdery mildew, contributing to stable yields and reduced losses.

The average yield of the Taifun hybrid reaches 610 centners per hectare with a sugar content of about 16.5%, providing a sugar harvest of 100.4 centners per hectare in the Central-Black-Earth region. These figures make it an optimal choice for large agro-holdings with their own processing facilities seeking high efficiency and product quality.
