Description VAVILOVSKAYA
Vavilovskaya rye is a winter rye variety created using genotypes with low water-soluble pentosan content, which positively affects grain quality. The plant belongs to the Poaceae family and is characterized by alternate lanceolate leaf arrangement and spikelet inflorescence. Stem height reaches 115-120 cm, and the mass of 1000 grains varies from 29 to 38 grams. The grain has a semi-circular shape, which is one of the distinguishing features of the variety. The Vavilovskaya variety is characterized by medium ripening, high winter hardiness, and drought resistance, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic conditions, including problematic lands with low moisture levels. It is resistant to diseases such as brown and stem rust, as well as powdery mildew, which significantly reduces crop losses and increases stability. The average yield of the variety is about 40.9 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators up to 72.5 centners per hectare. Vavilovskaya rye is widely used in agriculture, including in the baking industry, due to the high quality of grain. In addition, the variety is used as a green manure to improve soil structure and fertility. It is recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia, in particular in the Tula region, where it demonstrates its best agronomic characteristics and resistance to adverse conditions.
