Buckwheat AGIDEL

Selection Heritage from Ufa

The 'Agidel' variety is the result of long-term breeding efforts at the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Within the agricultural sector, this buckwheat variety has established a reputation as a reliable diploid cultivar focused on stable yields in temperate climates. Developed by scientists in Bashkortostan, Agidel meets the needs of modern farmers looking for a crop that combines adaptability to soil conditions with predictable technological performance.

Agronomic Profile and Field Performance

As an annual herbaceous plant, Agidel demonstrates balanced growth throughout the season. With a vegetation period ranging from 70 to 85 days, it fits efficiently into crop rotations, ensuring maturity within optimal agrotechnical windows. A key feature noted by producers is its high resistance to lodging. Despite a height of 80–100 cm, the plant maintains an upright position even under unfavorable weather conditions, which significantly simplifies mechanized harvesting and minimizes grain loss in the field.

Market Positioning

In the buckwheat market, Agidel occupies the niche of a reliable, workhorse variety. Its diploid nature allows for the use of standard cultivation technologies without the need for complex adjustments to protection or fertilization systems. This makes Agidel a sought-after solution for farms that prioritize cost-effectiveness while maintaining high grain quality. The variety's reputation is built on its combination of biological durability and operational convenience, making it a viable option for diverse farming landscapes.
