Rye LSR 88

German Breeding for Superior Results

Winter rye LSR 88 represents the culmination of years of research by the KWS Lochow breeding center—a company that has been setting global standards for hybrid rye production for decades. Developed by a team of originators led by Dr. Peer Wilde, this variety is a logical advancement in the KWS genetic lineup, specifically designed for intensive cultivation technologies.

Agronomic Profile and Resilience

A key advantage of LSR 88 is its plant architecture. In modern agriculture, where farmers strive for maximum yield, the risk of lodging becomes a critical factor for crop loss. This variety demonstrates high lodging resistance, allowing farmers to confidently apply intensive nitrogen fertilizer rates without fearing a decline in grain quality or complications during harvest.

Market Positioning

LSR 88 is the preferred choice for farms operating under European crop management protocols. Its origin in German breeding nurseries guarantees stable characteristics and high adaptability to temperate climates. Using seed from KWS Lochow minimizes risks associated with uneven emergence or susceptibility to regional pathogens. Agronomists value this variety for its predictability: when the technological map is followed, the hybrid fulfills its potential, providing high grain density and stable protein content.
