Rice Orfei

Stable rice yields under stress

The Orfey variety from Uk National is designed for farms focused on predictable productivity through intensive farming techniques. With a growing season of 105–110 days (maturing within 120 days), this rice variety fits perfectly into crop rotations where early harvesting is crucial to avoid unfavorable weather conditions in late autumn.

Practical application and protection

The primary value of Orfey lies in its complex resistance to pathogens, which frequently cause significant yield losses in paddy fields. Agronomists favor this variety for several key reasons:

• Phytosanitary reliability: genetic resistance to helminthosporiosis and rot significantly optimizes costs associated with fungicide applications.
• Pest protection: the variety demonstrates high resistance to pest damage, ensuring stalk integrity and premium grain quality.
• Agrotechnical flexibility: the variety is less demanding regarding strict treatment schedules against stem smut (in rice cropping systems), simplifying field management during peak periods.

Orfey responds exceptionally well to fertilizer application, but its ability to maintain high productivity under minimal disease pressure makes it the top choice for fields with a high infection load. The short ripening cycle gives managers more flexibility when planning post-harvest operations.
