Agat rice is a rice variety registered in 2007 and recommended for cultivation in steppe regions. This variety is also known by the names Fagot, Consul, Prestige, and Serpnevyy. It was developed and produced by the Institute of Rice of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (UAAAS).
Agat is distinguished by its adaptation to steppe zone conditions, making it an optimal choice for agricultural production in such regions of Ukraine. Due to its characteristics, this variety is in demand among Ukrainian farmers and is widely distributed throughout the country.
Using the Agat variety allows for effective rice cultivation under specific steppe climatic conditions, ensuring a stable yield and high grain quality. This makes it an important element in the development of rice farming in Ukraine.
