Raspberry BRYAN RUBY RASPBERRY

Genetic Potential and Hardiness

"Rubin Bryanskiy" is a product of professional breeding efforts by I.V. Kazakov and S.D. Aytzhanova (Federal Research Center for Horticulture). The variety is engineered for intensive cultivation in regions with fluctuating temperatures. Its primary technical advantage is its high winter hardiness, which ensures productivity even after harsh winters without significant bud damage.

Fruit Biometrics

The berries weigh between 3 and 5 grams and exhibit a consistent conical, sometimes round, shape. In terms of quality, the variety is classified as a dessert type, offering a well-balanced sweet-and-sour flavor profile. The dense internal structure of the fruit ensures excellent transportability, a key factor for maintaining quality in the commercial supply chain.

Disease Resistance

The selection process for this variety prioritized resilience against common raspberry pathogens. "Rubin Bryanskiy" demonstrates robust resistance to anthracnose, gray mold (Botrytis), and didymella (spur blight). This innate resistance allows agronomists to optimize fungicide management, effectively reducing the frequency of chemical interventions.

Cultivation Insights

A notable technical feature is the high level of spine development on the canes. While this requires careful handling during manual harvesting, it provides excellent structural rigidity to the bushes. For professional plantations, a trellis system is highly recommended to improve light penetration, ensure optimal airflow, and facilitate mechanized operations.
