The Bljesk raspberry variety was bred at the Research Institute of Horticulture and Berry Crops in Barnaul and is intended for cultivation in the regions of Siberia, the Urals, and the Far East. The bushes are medium-sized, reaching a height of 1.5-1.7 meters, with upright, flexible, and thornless canes of light brown color. Two-year-old stems do not require bending for winter, which facilitates care for the plant under severe climatic conditions. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and disease resistance, making it a reliable choice for gardeners in cold regions. Bljesk raspberries are large, weighing from 2.6 to 3.4 grams, have a blunt-conical shape, and a rich raspberry color. The fruits consist of uniform, medium-sized drupelets, possess a sweet taste and pleasant aroma. Berries ripen early and simultaneously, allowing for harvesting in several stages—three to four crops per season. The berries are of universal purpose, ideal for fresh consumption, freezing, and transportation due to good transportability. The yield of the variety reaches 7.5-8.0 tons per hectare, which with proper agronomy amounts to about 4 kilograms per bush. However, in drought years without additional irrigation, the yield may decrease. Due to its characteristics, the Bljesk variety is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking to obtain sweet, aromatic, and large raspberry berries with high winter hardiness and resistance to adverse conditions.
