The garden strawberry variety «Viola» is the result of breeding by Irina Ivanovna Bogdanova and is distinguished by high yield and quality berries. This is an early, non-everbearing variety of universal purpose, intended for growing in the Volga-Vyatsk region. The bushes are sprawling, moderately foliose, with medium-sized, green, and slightly wrinkled leaves. The flowers are bisexual, white, and twisted, while the peduncles are medium-sized and located above the leaf level. The runners are pale red, of medium length and quantity. The «Viola» variety berries have a conical shape, are red in color, have an average weight of about 17.1 grams, and lack a neck. The berry flesh is red, juicy, and loose with a sweet-sour taste, confirmed by a high tasting score of 4.9 points. The berries contain 6.3% sugars, 1.6% acids, and 69 mg% of vitamin C, making them not only tasty but also beneficial. The calyxes of the berries are medium and thick, which facilitates harvest collection. The «Viola» variety is characterized by good winter hardiness and medium drought resistance, as well as disease resistance, ensuring a stable yield. The average yield is about 70 centners per hectare. Due to its characteristics and taste qualities, the «Viola» strawberry is suitable for growing in gardens and home plots, providing tasty and beneficial berries in early summer.
