Currant Leonid Mikhaylevsky's Memory

Stable yields with blackcurrant from NUBiP of Ukraine

Selecting the right variety is a cornerstone of any successful berry-growing business. The 'Pamyati Leonida Mykhailivskoho' blackcurrant variety, developed by NUBiP of Ukraine, is designed to minimize production risks. For an grower, this translates into predictable performance, reducing the constant pressure of fungal diseases.

Resilience and Field Maintenance

The standout feature of this variety is its genetic resistance. Specifically, its tolerance to septoria and powdery mildew is a significant advantage. By choosing this variety, you decrease the dependency on heavy fungicide applications. This not only lowers the overall cost of production per kilogram but also aligns your operations with modern, more sustainable agronomic practices.

Operational Insights

• Growth Habit: The bushes exhibit a balanced growth rate with a compact structure. This makes row maintenance and canopy management significantly easier.
• Harvesting: The berry maintains good structural integrity after picking, which is essential for fresh market logistics. Consistent ripening ensures a more efficient harvesting window.
• Maintenance: Due to the natural ventilation of the canopy, the variety requires less intensive pruning than more sprawling cultivars, saving man-hours during the dormant season.

If you are looking for planting material that balances ease of care with robust field performance, the 'Pamyati Leonida Mykhailivskoho' variety is a solid, evidence-based choice from NUBiP of Ukraine for your garden or farm.
