Libidь is a medium-late Ukrainian blackcurrant variety developed by breeders of the Lviv branch of the Institute of Horticulture of UAAN. The bushes of this variety are compact and of medium height, reaching 90 to 170 cm, with a spreading or slightly spreading form. The plant exhibits high resistance to diseases, low temperatures, frost, and drought, making it particularly suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including southern regions of Ukraine. The berries of the Libidь variety have an oval-round shape and large size, with an average weight of 1.7 to 2.4 grams. They have a deep black color and characteristic aroma, as well as a dessert-like, delicate sweet taste. The fruits detach dry, facilitating harvest. High vitamin C content (about 225 mg) makes the berries not only delicious but also nutritious. The clusters are dense and evenly distributed over the entire bush surface. Libidь blackcurrant stands out for its high commercial quality and versatility. Berries are consumed fresh, as well as used for freezing, jam, juice, and wine-making. The variety is characterized by good yield — up to 8 kg per bush, making it attractive for gardeners and farmers aiming to obtain a high-quality and stable harvest.
