Vityaz

The Vityaz strawberry variety is a universal and high-yielding strawberry variety with medium-early maturity. The berries of this variety are large, weighing from 30 to 40 grams, have an oval-conical or round-weakly conical shape, and a bright red color with a pleasant strawberry aroma. The taste of the berries is balanced, sweet with a slight acidity, making them particularly attractive to consumers. Sugar content reaches 9%, acidity is about 1.2%, and vitamin C is 60 mg%, indicating the high nutritional value of the fruits.

Plants of the Vityaz variety are characterized by a powerful, semicircular, and low bush, which facilitates care and harvest collection. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to powdery mildew and strawberry mites, but is susceptible to white and gray spotting. Thanks to its winter hardiness, drought resistance, and unpretentiousness, Vityaz adapts well to various climatic conditions and is suitable for growing both in open ground and in greenhouses.

The variety was bred at the All-Russian Horticultural and Nursery Institute based on parent forms 'Festival Romashka' and 'Olympiad Surprise'. It is recommended for growing in various regions of Russia, including Central, Middle-Volga, Volga-Vyatka, and North-West. The yield of the variety is about 1.3 kg per square meter, which makes it attractive both for amateur gardeners and for farm enterprises.
