VIMA KSIMA

The Vima Kxima strawberry variety is a mid-late, non-remontant garden strawberry cultivar developed by the Dutch company Vissers Aardbeiplanten B.V. in 1981. This variety is distinguished by its large fruit size and high yield, reaching about 14.5 centners per hectare. The bushes are powerful, semi-spreading, well-leafed, and up to 50 cm tall, which ensures ease of care and harvest collection. Vima Kxima possesses good winter hardiness, making it promising for cultivation in regions with a cold climate; however, drought resistance is low, so it is recommended to grow it in sunny areas with regular irrigation.

The berries are large, weighing from 20 to 30 grams, with a round-conical shape, sometimes cleft, without a neck. The skin is a rich bright red color, becoming dark red when fully ripe. The flesh is red, juicy, fleshy, and sufficiently dense, allowing the berries to withstand transportation and short-term storage without loss of taste qualities. The berry flavor is multifaceted, very sweet with a subtle acidity that enhances the sweetness. The sugar content in the fruits reaches 10%, and the berries have a pronounced strawberry aroma.

The Vima Kxima variety is versatile in use: the berries are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing and freezing. Thanks to its dense flesh and excellent market appearance, the strawberries are in demand for market sale. The variety is undemanding and resistant to diseases, which simplifies plant care and contributes to obtaining a stable abundant harvest in open ground.
