Oriana blackcurrant is a complex hybrid obtained by crossing several varieties, including Zhadkya, Sanutu, Pamyat Vavilova, and Titan. This mid-early variety is characterized by high and stable yields, as well as tall bushes. The berries of Oriana are large, round, uniform in size, and weigh between 2 to 3.5 grams. They have a pronounced sweet-tart flavor and a rich aroma, making them particularly attractive for fresh consumption and processing.
Blackcurrant berries contain a significant amount of beneficial substances: 100 grams of berries contain approximately 190-195 mg of vitamin C, 8-8.5% sugars, and 2.3-2.5% acids. In addition, the berries are rich in vitamins A and PP, trace elements, essential oils, zinc, magnesium, vitamin E, organic acids, and phytoncides. Due to this, Oriana blackcurrant is a valuable therapeutic and preventive agent, especially effective for cold-related illnesses and vitamin deficiencies during the winter-spring period.
The variety is characterized by synchronized ripening of berries, which remain on the bush for a long time without falling off after full ripening. Oriana exhibits high resistance to fungal diseases, drought, and frost, ensuring stable yields and good fruit quality. The berries are suitable for freezing and are widely used in making jams, compotes, juices, and liqueurs, while retaining their flavor and beneficial properties.
