The Rusanivka strawberry is a staple variety in the Ukrainian berry sector, developed by the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. Field Performance

Rusanivka is prized for its rapid development, reaching harvest readiness in just 35–40 days after the start of the season. This earliness provides a significant economic advantage, allowing growers to supply the market at the peak of fresh fruit demand. The berries are visually appealing, featuring a bright red color and a classic round-conical shape. With an average fruit weight of 30–40 grams, the variety maintains excellent marketability.

Resilience and Cultivation

• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits high genetic resistance to gray mold, powdery mildew, and white leaf spot, significantly reducing the pressure from common strawberry pathogens and lowering the need for intensive fungicide spraying.
• Environmental Adaptation: It is particularly noted for its drought tolerance, allowing it to remain productive even in regions or seasons where water availability is a constraint.
• Propagation: High stolon production (runners) makes it incredibly efficient to propagate and expand plantation size without recurring high costs for nursery stock.
