Radish Joker

Consistent Yields Throughout the Season

The 'Joker' radish, developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing, is designed for growers who prioritize reliability. Unlike many fast-maturing varieties that tend to become pithy or soft, this variety maintains its firm internal structure and marketability even when the root reaches its full weight of 50–100 grams.

Key Agronomic Features

• Versatile Planting Windows: Perfectly suited for spring, summer, and autumn cultivation, making it an excellent choice for continuous production cycles.
• High Yield Capacity: The average root weight of 50–100 grams positions it well above the industry standard for traditional round radish varieties.
• Market Appeal: Its distinct cylindrical shape and deep, dark red color ensure it stands out on retail shelves, meeting the high demands of the fresh produce market.

Why Choose Joker?

This variety is ideal for commercial farmers targeting retail chains where appearance and shelf life are critical. Its robustness after harvest allows for easier logistics compared to delicate bunching varieties. However, farmers should note that, like most large-rooted cultivars, it requires consistent moisture management. To prevent the risk of splitting, especially during the rapid growth phase, the use of drip irrigation is highly recommended to maintain uniform soil moisture levels.
