Radish variety Superstar is an early-maturing Dutch variety with a growing period of 19 to 25 days, which allows it to be grown both in open ground and in greenhouses. This variety is distinguished by high resistance to temperature fluctuations, lack of lighting, root rot, and increased soil moisture, making it universal for year-round cultivation. The root crops are round-shaped, bright red in color, weighing from 20 to 25 grams, with a thin stem, and possess snow-white, juicy, and crispy flesh with a tender semi-bitter taste.
Superstar easily adapts to various growing conditions: in open ground, it is sown from March to May and from late July to late September, and in film greenhouses - from mid-February to early May and from August. The optimal temperature for growth is 16-20 degrees, while it is important to avoid applying fresh organic matter and ensure regular watering to achieve high yield and product quality. Sowing is done in rows with a distance between plants of 10-20 cm and a depth of 1-2 cm, the sowing rate for open ground is about 5 grams per square meter.
The variety is characterized by synchronous ripening and high resistance to stressful weather conditions, which allows obtaining uniform and quality fruits without massive waste. Thanks to its characteristics, radish Superstar is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones and ensures a stable harvest with a piquant taste, which will be appreciated by both professional agrarians and gardening enthusiasts.
