The leaf rosette is large or of medium height and spreading, which promotes good plant development. The variety is characterized by resistance to bolting and responds weakly to day length, ensuring yield stability under various growing conditions. 'Octava' radish prefers sunny areas with light, loose soils such as loam, sandy loam, and cultivated peat with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. To prevent diseases associated with acidic soil, liming is recommended. The plant is moisture-loving and requires regular watering, especially during germination and initial growth; however, excess moisture after drought can cause root cracking. The optimal temperature range is 15-20°C, and daily watering is required during hot weather. 'Octava' is distinguished by simultaneous yield release and high productivity—2.4 to 3.5 kg per square meter. During autumn harvest, the root crops reach maximum size and maintain excellent taste qualities for a long time, do not wilt, and store well. The variety is resistant to lack of light and low temperatures, expanding its cultivation possibilities. 'Octava' radish is a source of micro- and macro-elements, vitamins necessary for the health of the body. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to observe crop rotation, avoiding planting after radish and cabbage, while good predecessors include tomatoes, beans, peas, potatoes, cucumbers, and beans.
