Kohlrabi "Snizhana": Efficiency for Early Season Markets

For commercial farms prioritizing quick returns, the "Snizhana" kohlrabi variety from "Agrosvit" offers a highly efficient production cycle. Its primary advantage is the ultra-short vegetation period. When grown from seedlings, technical maturity is reached in just 30–40 days, allowing producers to capture early-season market demand when fresh vegetable supply is limited.

Practical Applications in Farm Management

"Snizhana" fits seamlessly into intensive crop rotation schemes. With its compact size (0.2–0.5 kg head weight) and predictable development, growers utilize it for:

• Intercropping: The short growth cycle allows it to be planted between rows of slower-maturing vegetables, maximizing land utility.
• Fresh Market Supply: The uniform, light-green, round heads have high market appeal, meeting the aesthetic requirements of retail chains.
• Culinary Processing: Due to its tender texture, it is a preferred choice for the HoReCa sector and pre-cut fresh salad producers.

Agronomic Insights

Given its rapid maturation, "Snizhana" requires consistent irrigation and precise nutrient management during the 30-40 day growth window to prevent cracking or premature fiber development. The "Agrosvit" genetics provide excellent crop uniformity. This consistency is a major labor-saving factor, as it allows for efficient harvest operations and minimizes the need for extensive sorting before the product is packed for shipment.
