Radish ANDRUSHKA

Efficient Early-Season Radish Production

The 'Andryushka' radish variety from 'Heterozygous Breeding' (Geterozisnaya Selektsiya) is designed for growers who prioritize rapid turnover and consistent early-season supply. With a remarkably short growth cycle of 20–25 days, this variety fits perfectly into intensive vegetable production schedules.

Practical Implementation Strategies

• Greenhouse Cultivation: Its early maturity makes it an excellent choice for the first greenhouse rotation, allowing farmers to capture the high-margin market of early spring vegetables.
• Open Field with Row Covers: 'Andryushka' demonstrates reliable performance under agro-textiles, handling early-season temperature fluctuations effectively, which is essential for consistent yields.
• Market Readiness: The aesthetic appeal—round, bright red roots with a signature white tip—aligns with consumer preferences for traditional, crisp, and fresh-looking produce.

Agronomic Performance and Harvesting

For large-scale operations, the uniformity of 'Andryushka' is its strongest asset. The crop reaches technical maturity in a concentrated time frame, enabling harvest in one or two quick passes. This reduces labor costs and allows for immediate transition to secondary summer crops like tomatoes or cucumbers, maximizing the utilization of your greenhouse infrastructure.

The root structure is dense, which translates to excellent shelf-life and durability during transport to retail hubs. Unlike some hyper-early varieties that crack under moisture fluctuations, 'Andryushka' maintains its shape well, providing a buffer if harvesting is slightly delayed by weather conditions. It is a workhorse variety for farmers who need predictable, high-quality output early in the season.
