Sunflower variety Zaporozhsky 28 is a simple trihybrid with a vegetation period of 100-105 days. Plants reach a height of 160-180 cm, and the head diameter is 20-24 cm. The 1000-seed mass varies from 55 to 60 g, indicating large seeds. The hybrid has high oil content — around 49-50% — ensuring high yields of up to 4 tons per hectare at the recommended planting density of 50-55 thousand plants per hectare. Zaporozhsky 28 exhibits high resistance to seed shattering, lodging, as well as diseases such as downy mildew and false powdery mildew. It also shows comprehensive resistance to pests and diseases, making it a reliable choice for intensive cultivation technologies. The hybrid responds well to mineral fertilizer application and is suitable for mechanical harvesting. Additionally, the variety is a good honey producer, which may provide an additional advantage for agricultural ecosystems. It is recommended for cultivation in southern steppe regions of Ukraine, where it demonstrates high drought resistance and stable yields even under adverse climatic conditions. The main use of the hybrid is oilseed, due to the high oil content in the seeds. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, Zaporozhsky 28 is a high-quality variety with high productivity potential, suitable for intensive agricultural production.
