Potato variety 'Debut' is a medium-early table variety of Russian selection with a maturation period of 65-80 days. The plant is low, 55-65 cm tall, with intermediate growth type and semi-upright form. Leaves are medium-sized, open, green, and the flower is medium to large with moderate anthocyanin coloration on the inner side. Tubers are oval-round with small eyes, yellow skin, and creamy flesh. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 96 to 141 grams, with 8-12 tubers per plant.
The variety is characterized by high market yield, ranging from 182 to 382 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 526 centners per hectare. Starch content in tubers is 12.4-14.2%, ensuring good consumer qualities. Flesh does not darken during cooking, and culinary type AB allows using the potato for salads, soups, and frying. Taste is rated as good to excellent, marketability reaches 82-96%, and storability is 95%, indicating good tuber preservation during storage.
Potato 'Debut' exhibits resistance to potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode, enhancing its reliability in cultivation. However, the variety is susceptible to late blight of foliage and tubers, and moderately resistant to crinkle and mosaic diseases. Seed treatment against rhizoctonia and common scab is recommended for plant protection. Planting density is 40-44 thousand plants per hectare, which promotes optimal growth and high yield.
