Description Vesnyanka
The potato variety Vesenka is a late-maturing Belarusian variety for table and technical purposes, characterized by high yield and excellent consumer qualities. The plant is of medium height with upright stems and dark green, open-type leaves. Tubers are oval-round, with small eyes and smooth yellow skin; flesh is creamy. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 93 to 127 grams, with 9–12 tubers per plant. Starch content varies from 12.1% to 21.6%, making this variety suitable for preparing various dishes as well as for starch and potato product production, including crispy potatoes. The culinary type of the variety is BC, indicating its versatility in cooking.

The yield of the Vesenka variety is high and stable, ranging from 235 to 328 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching up to 368 centners per hectare. The variety is well-adapted for cultivation on all soil types and effectively utilizes natural fertility, while positively responding to application of high doses of mineral fertilizers. The recommended planting density for food purposes is 45–48 thousand tubers per hectare, and for seed plots — 55–58 thousand tubers per hectare. Vesenka exhibits good storability (around 94%) and moderate duration of tuber dormancy period.

The variety shows high resistance to several diseases, including potato cancer and golden potato cyst nematode. Additionally, it demonstrates moderate resistance to leaf and tuber late blight, common scab, and viral diseases. Vesenka is relatively resistant to mechanical damage but sensitive to excessive watering during the second growth stage. These characteristics make this variety a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
