Potato Goldika

Premium German Breeding: The Goldika Potato

In the European agricultural market, the «Goldika» potato by Europlant Pflanzenzucht has solidified its reputation as a reliable, high-performing table variety. Developed by the breeders at Nordkartoffel Zuchtgesellschaft mbH under the umbrella of Europlant, this variety embodies the rigorous standards of German agricultural science, focusing on both plant health and consistent market-grade quality.

Resilience as a Core Feature

The standout feature of Goldika is its robust resistance to the most aggressive pathogens that threaten farm profitability. The variety exhibits high resistance to the Potato Cyst Nematode (Golden Nematode), allowing for cultivation in fields with intensive crop history. Furthermore, Goldika effectively withstands blackleg, rhizoctonia, common scab, and leaf roll virus, streamlining crop protection strategies significantly.

Visual Appeal and Culinary Value

Visually, the variety stands out with its uniform tuber shape and attractive yellow flesh. It passes quality control on grading lines with ease, as its resistance to common scab ensures a smooth, clean skin finish. In the culinary space, Goldika is prized for its stability: the yellow flesh does not darken after cooking and boasts a balanced flavor profile, making it a versatile choice for both retail and processing sectors.
