The Orion hybrid sunflower is a high-yielding oil-type variety registered in the Ukrainian Variety Register since 1993. This ultra-early hybrid belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetative period of 108-112 days. Plants reach a height of 180 to 200 cm, possess a strong structure and large flower heads with a diameter of about 30 cm, which may be slightly or strongly inclined. Seeds are black, oval-shaped, and large, with a 1000-seed weight of 70-90 g.
The hybrid features high oil content (50-52%) and a shell content of 22-24%, ensuring significant oil content in the seeds. The plant demonstrates high adaptability to growing conditions, drought resistance, and tolerance to minor frosts during the seedling stage. Plant density on the hectare is 42-50 thousand plants, which promotes optimal land use and maximizes yield.
Orion sunflower seeds are supplied in packages of 150 thousand seeds, convenient for wholesale purchases and large-scale cultivation.
