Genetic defense architecture: why «Iziumskyi» changes the game

Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS, the «Iziumskyi» sunflower hybrid provides a solution for farms operating under the Clearfield technology. The primary value of this hybrid lies in its tolerance to imidazolinone-based herbicides (EURO-LIGHTNING). This allows for efficient control of a broad spectrum of weeds, including problematic parasitic species like broomrape, without the risk of phytotoxicity to the crop.

Phytosanitary barrier

One of the critical traits of «Iziumskyi» is its genetically fixed resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis). In conditions of a wet spring, when pathogens are activated in the soil, this feature eliminates the need for excessive fungicidal pressure during the early stages of vegetation. The hybrid's inherent internal defense minimizes the risks of stand density loss, which is crucial for achieving high yield potential.
