PALERMO OXALIS

Sweet pepper Palermo Oxalis is an early hybrid of the Dulce Italiano type with orange fruits weighing 130-150 grams. Plants are medium-height, compact, with moderate leafiness and umbellate growth habit. Fruits have an elongated-conical shape, reaching 15-25 cm in length, with first fruits possibly up to 30 cm. Wall thickness is about 6 mm, flesh is juicy, crisp, and dense, with high sugar content (Brix 8-10), giving the pepper a very sweet and aromatic flavor.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus (Tm:0-3), PVY viruses (0,1,1.2), and tip rot, as well as tolerance to temperature fluctuations and insufficient light. Plants are evenly loaded with fruit set, ensuring stable and high commercial yields up to 28.3 kg/m². Vegetative period duration is 70-75 days, enabling early harvest.

Palermo Oxalis is intended for cultivation in protected ground, in high glass or plastic greenhouses with supplemental lighting. Fruits at technical maturity are green, turning to vibrant orange at biological maturity. The pepper is ideal for fresh consumption, home cooking, canning, and freezing. Due to its dense flesh and good transportability, fruits retain their flavor qualities during long-term storage and long-distance transportation.
