Pepper P 021 7

Working with the P 021 7 Hybrid

When working with the P 021 7 pepper variety, developed by breeder Vasily Blokin-Mechtalin, it is clear that this hybrid was engineered for one specific task: a reliable and fast harvest in open-field conditions. Its 75–80 day maturity cycle is the “gold standard” for growers, ensuring production is finished before peak August heat or early autumn frost hits.

Operational Performance

• Planting and Maintenance: The variety is remarkably low-maintenance. In open ground, the plant maintains its structure well, which significantly saves time and labor on staking.
• Handling and Logistics: The conical shape is a major advantage during harvesting and packing. The peppers fit perfectly into standard shipping crates, maximizing space efficiency. With a weight of 100–120 grams, it is the ideal format for both retail and wholesale distribution.
• Wall Thickness: The 4–5 mm wall thickness provides enough density to ensure the fruit survives transportation without losing its visual appeal. This isn't a soft, watery pepper that bruises easily in transit; it is a durable crop that stands up to standard supply chain handling.

Profitability and Yield

P 021 7 does not require high-precision agrotechnics or complex care. If you are looking for a “workhorse” variety that delivers predictable results with minimal maintenance costs, this Russian hybrid justifies the investment in full.
