Pepper ORIEN

Technical Profile of the Orien Hybrid

The "Orien" variety by Semko-Junior is a classic example of pepper breeding designed specifically for open-field environments. The technical value of this hybrid lies in its adaptability to field stresses, where yield stability takes precedence over forced growth.

Fruit Morphology and Marketability

The conical-shaped fruits have an average weight of 100–120 grams. This range is optimal for modern supply chains, allowing for convenient packaging and transport without compromising wall integrity. The 4–5 mm wall thickness offers the perfect balance between succulence and structural resilience during storage.

Agrotechnical Performance

• The fruit reaches biological maturity at a deep dark red stage, indicating high carotenoid and anthocyanin content in the pericarp.
• The growth architecture of the Orien plant is optimized for open-field conditions, showing robustness against temperature fluctuations common during the spring and summer seasons.
• The conical geometry facilitates uniform fruit development and streamlines the harvesting process, minimizing potential damage to the peduncle.

Choosing this Semko-Junior hybrid is a strategic decision for growers aiming for high-quality sweet peppers with predictable storage parameters and superior flavor characteristics in field-grown conditions.
