Baikal

BAIKAL pepper is an early-maturing hybrid with a period from germination to the beginning of fruiting of 95-105 days. The plant is strong and well-adapted for cultivation both in open ground and in protected ground, allowing for a stable yield under various conditions. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity and resistance to drought, heat, as well as to a complex of diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, verticillium wilt, and fusarium wilt.

The fruits of BAIKAL pepper are large, elongated-conical, drooping, and highly glossy. In technical ripeness, they have a light green color, while in biological ripeness — bright red. The weight of one fruit ranges from 180 to 220 grams. The thick-walled fruits with wall thickness of 6-7 mm have juicy, aromatic flesh of excellent taste, making them versatile for various culinary processing and indispensable for fresh consumption.

The BAIKAL hybrid was developed by a group of authors and approved for use in 2019. Due to its characteristics such as early ripening, high productivity, and resistance to adverse factors, this variety is popular among gardeners and farmers. It is suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and in open ground, expanding its application possibilities and ensuring a stable harvest of high-quality fruits.
