Peony Dawn Poem

A Landmark of Ukrainian Breeding

The 'Svitankova Poema' peony is a testament to the decades of meticulous research conducted by the M.M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden in Kyiv. This variety stands as a significant milestone in domestic floriculture, reflecting a dedicated effort to develop a cultivar that is perfectly attuned to regional climatic conditions while rivaling global standards in aesthetic beauty.

Cultivation and Landscape Application

As a herbaceous peony, the success of this variety depends largely on site selection and soil management. To ensure the plant reaches its full ornamental potential, follow these essential guidelines:

• Light Requirements: This peony is highly light-demanding. Planting in open, sun-drenched locations is mandatory to ensure the development of dense, high-quality blooms and vibrant petal coloration.
• Soil Preferences: The variety thrives best in fertile, well-drained loams. Excessive moisture is detrimental, as poor drainage often leads to root health issues.
• Landscape Use: Featuring sturdy stems and a symmetrical growth habit, 'Svitankova Poema' is an excellent choice for focal points in mixed borders or as a prominent feature in garden rest areas.

The reputation of this variety among gardeners is rooted in its resilience and consistent performance. It represents a refined choice for those who value the balance between high-end ornamental quality and the practical ease of maintenance expected from locally developed, climate-adapted varieties.
