Peony AMBER NECKLACE

A robust tree peony for resilient landscapes

"Yantarnoye Ozherelye" (Amber Necklace) represents a milestone in domestic plant breeding from the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Unlike trendy international hybrids that often struggle with continental climate fluctuations, this tree peony is engineered for survival, offering both structural longevity and aesthetic impact.

Why choose this specific variety?

The primary advantage of "Yantarnoye Ozherelye" is its cold tolerance and structural resilience. While most delicate tree peonies require obsessive protection, this variety proves its worth by standing firm through harsh seasonal changes. However, it is a demanding guest: it refuses to tolerate waterlogged soils. For the gardener, this means that a drainage layer is not a suggestion, but a prerequisite for success.

Cultivation requirements for optimal performance

• Light Exposure: Sunlight is non-negotiable. To maintain the rigid, upright architecture of the branches, this plant must be placed in a fully sun-drenched spot. Shade will lead to leggy, weak growth.
• Soil Quality: This variety requires highly fertile, nutrient-dense soil. It is not designed for poor, sandy soils and will thrive only where the gardener provides a consistent supply of organic matter.
• Drainage: Given its sensitivity to root rot, the planting pit must be prepared with a significant drainage layer to ensure excess moisture never accumulates near the root crown.

"Yantarnoye Ozherelye" is the optimal choice for the committed gardener seeking a permanent focal point. It rewards technical precision in planting with spectacular floral displays that outperform many imported varieties in terms of overall durability and regional adaptability.
