Description Peony
The Peony 'Svitoch' is a perennial plant with a compact bush about 70 cm tall. Its stems are sturdy and slightly reddish, while the leaves are small, dark green, and have pointed leaf blades, giving the plant a neat and well-maintained appearance. This variety was bred in the USSR in 1989 by breeder V.F. Gorobets.

The flowers of the 'Svitoch' peony are large, up to 16 cm in diameter, double, and spherical. The flower color is bright and saturated, with shades of red, raspberry, and pink, sometimes with a slight lilac tint. The flowers are dense and do not fade in the sun, preserving their decorative appeal throughout the blooming period. The fragrance of the flowers is weak, which may be an advantage for those who prefer less aromatic plants.

This variety is characterized by good cold hardiness and is adapted for cultivation in USDA zones 3a–8a, making it versatile for various climatic conditions. The blooming of the 'Svitoch' peony begins very early or in mid-to-late season, depending on growing conditions. Typically, 2-3 flowers form on each flower stalk, ensuring abundant and prolonged blooming.
