When selecting plants for our garden design, we opted for the 'Uтренний Рассвет' (Morning Dawn) herbaceous peony from FANTZA. What stood out immediately was its combination of decorative appeal and reliable performance. Unlike many finicky varieties, this hybrid is quite manageable once established, provided you respect its basic ecological needs.

Site Preparation and Planting

Following the guidelines from the originator (Av Du Capitaine N Tchorere 80270 Airaines France), we prioritized a sunny location. This peony thrives in sunlight; planting it in the shade results in leggy growth and sparse blooms. Regarding soil, success depends on fertility and drainage. We maintained a slightly acidic environment with a pH of 6–7. If your site has heavy clay, incorporating a drainage layer at the bottom of the planting hole is non-negotiable to prevent root rot.

Operational Insights

During our time with this variety, we identified a few key points for maintenance:

• Watering: Consistency is key during the bud development stage, but avoid waterlogging.
• Fertilization: The plant responds well to standard seasonal feedings, which enhances its overall vigor.
• Structure: One of the biggest advantages of this FANTZA selection is its sturdy habit. It maintains its shape well, which significantly reduces the time spent on staking or supporting the stems.
