Autumn variety from the South Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Growing, obtained by crossing Ussuriyskaya No. 78 with Olivier de Serre. Breeders: P. A. Zhavoronkov, A. L. Danilova. The variety has been approved and is widely grown in the Ural, West Siberian, and East Siberian regions. In recent years, due to the emergence of new promising pear varieties, it has lost its position.
Medium-sized, slow-growing tree with a sparse drooping crown. Bark on the trunk is flaking, greenish-brown. Fruit-bearing is concentrated on buds and tips of growth shoots.
Medium-sized, curved, brownish branches, hairy. Buds are bent, large, conical, smooth. Leaves are large, round, long-pointed, light green, smooth, with coarse venation. Leaf blade is convex and curved, hairless. Leaf margin is fringed. Petiole is medium length, thick, hairy. Stipules are small.
Fruits are small (average weight 48-57 g, maximum 90 g), oval, greenish, turning greenish-yellow with a dark red blush at full maturity (fig.).
Flesh is juicy, of moderate sweet-sour taste. In years with cold and cloudy summers, fruits are sour. Fruits contain 9.2% sugars and 0.88% titratable acids.
Fruits can be stored until early November and are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing into compotes and dried fruits.
Begins fruiting on the 4th-5th year after planting and rapidly increases yield. The variety is characterized by moderate winter hardiness.
