Autumn variety selected by VNIISPK, obtained by pollination in 1974 of 'Forest Beauty' with pollen from a winter-hardy seedling 11-11-169 (Severyanka Ch Rossohanska Early + Merежka). Breeders: E. N. Sedov, N. G. Krasova, A. G. Kuznetsova, E. A. Dolmatov. The variety undergoes state testing and is widely grown in private gardens. Suitable for farm and large commercial orchards.
Trees are large and fast-growing. Crown is pyramidal, of medium density. Main branches are curved, branch off the trunk at a sharp angle, densely covered with lenticels. Bark on the trunk and main branches is smooth, dark gray.
Shoots of medium thickness, curved, arc-shaped, angular in cross-section, brown, without hairs. Buds are bent, hairy, conical in shape. Leaves are green, medium-sized, elongated, long-pointed, shiny, smooth, with delicate venation, without hairs. Leaf blade is concave, leaf margin finely toothed, coarsely wavy. Petiole is long, without hairs.
Flower buds are smooth, conical, medium-sized. Flowers are white, small, petals rounded, appressed, stigma level with or slightly above the anthers.
Fruits are medium-sized (weighing 130 g), single-row, pear-shaped, with smooth surface. Main fruit color at consumer maturity is greenish-yellow, with a carmine diffuse blush on the sun-exposed side. Numerous gray subcutaneous spots are clearly visible. Peduncle is medium, curved. Core is small, bulbous.
Flesh is creamy, tender, semi-oily, juicy, sweet with a slight acidity and mild aroma. Chemical composition of fruits: total sugars — 7.6%, titratable acids — 0.23%, ascorbic acid — 6.9 mg/100g, P-active substances — 108 mg/100g.
Harvesting maturity occurs at the end of August — beginning of September, consumer period lasts until mid-November.
High, annual yield; mature (10-12-year-old) trees produce 50-60 kg of fruit per tree. In the Oryol region, the variety is fairly winter-hardy and resistant to scab.
Advantages of the variety: abundant, annual yield, high fruit marketability, good taste.
Disadvantages of the variety: in some years, fruits are covered with rust spots.
