Early-autumn variety selected by VNIISPK, obtained in 1976 by crossing seedling 11-11-163 with the variety Jervé. Seedling 11-11-163 was obtained by pollinating Severyanka [Koperechka 12 Michurin (Ussuri pear Ch. Bere Ligela) × Lyubimitsa Klappa] with a pollen mixture of Rossohanskaya Rannaya + Merezhka. Breeders of the variety: E. N. Sedov, A. G. Kuznetsova, N. G. Krasova.
The variety undergoes State testing in the middle zone of horticulture, is widely distributed, primarily in home gardeners' gardens. It is of interest for farmers' and commercial orchards.
Trees are large, fast-growing, with oval crowns. Branches diverge from the trunk at a sharp angle, are compactly arranged, and their ends point upwards. Bark on the trunk and main branches is smooth, gray-brown. The predominant type of fruiting structures are simple and complex rings, short and long fruiting spurs.
Shoots are thick, curved, angular in cross-section, brown, with the upper half slightly hairy. Buds are few, medium-sized. Buds are pressed, large, conical, slightly hairy. Leaves are medium-sized, elongated, long-pointed, green, smooth, glossy, with delicate venation, tip curled. Blade is concave, curved downward, without hairs. Leaf folded along the central vein. Leaf margin finely toothed, almost entire. Petiole is medium-sized, slightly hairy at the upper leaves.
Flower buds are smooth, medium-sized, elongated. Flowers are white, medium-sized, flat, petals appressed; stigma is below the anthers.
Fruits are medium-sized (140 g), one-dimensional, bell-shaped, ribbed, slanted. Fruit skin is rough, dry, dull. Main fruit color is green when harvested and green-yellow at consumer maturity. Cover color is carmine blush on half the fruit surface. Subcutaneous dots are numerous, medium-sized, green, clearly visible. Peduncle is long, thick, curved, oblique, with a thick swelling at the base. Nectary is small. Calyx is closed, non-dehiscent. Receptacle is small, ribbed. Fruit core is small, bulbous. Seed chambers are closed. Subcalyx tube is medium-length, conical. Seeds are medium-sized, dark brown.
Fruit flesh is greenish, firm, tender, finely-grained, juicy, sweet with a slight pleasant acidity. Chemical composition of the fruit: total sugars — 9.1%, titratable acids — 0.14%, ascorbic acid — 8.3 mg/100g, P-active substances — 84 mg/100g.
Harvesting maturity occurs in early September; consumer period lasts until early to mid-October. Yield of the variety is good. Young trees yield 100-120 c/ha, mature trees — up to 180-200 c/ha. The variety is sufficiently winter-hardy in Orel Oblast and neighboring regions, resistant to scab.
Advantages of the variety: early fruiting, high yield, resistance to scab, high commercial and consumer quality of fruits suitable for early-autumn consumption.
Disadvantages of the variety: large tree.
