Summer variety from the Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Cultivation. Obtained by crossing the varieties 'Nежность' and 'Повислая'. Breeders: E. A. Falkenberg, M. A. Mazunin, V. I. Putyatyn. The variety has been officially approved and widely distributed in the Ural region. Propagated by seedlings of Ussuri pear.
Tree tall, fast-growing with a dense, narrow-pyramidal crown. Branches straight, compactly arranged, emerging at a right angle from the trunk. Branch tips point upward. Bark on the trunk and main scaffold branches is flaking and brown.
Shoots of medium length, straight, dark-red, bare. Buds numerous, large. Buds small, curved, round, smooth. Leaves small, elongated, blunt-tipped, dark green, smooth, glossy. Leaf blade flat, hairless. Leaf margin smooth, finely toothed. Petiole long, thick, bare. Petiolules small, elongated.
Fruits above-average size, average weight 180 g, maximum 250 g, one-dimensional, very attractive, regular pear-shaped. Skin dry, dull. Color at harvest green, ripening yellow-green, no bloom. Numerous, large, gray lenticels, clearly visible. Peduncle long, thick, curved. Calyx tube small, narrow, slightly rusted. Calyx persistent, closed. Receptacle medium, wide, smooth. Core medium, bulbous. Subcalyx tube long, wide. Seed chambers closed. Seeds large, broad, cup-shaped, brown.
Flesh white, medium density, very juicy, tender, semi-oily, good sweet taste with spice and mild aroma.
Fruits ripen at the end of summer, 10-12 days later than 'Sеверянка', and are stored for no more than 10 days. Primarily used fresh and for juice production.
Recommended pollinators: 'Северянка', 'Радужная', 'Красуля'.
High fruiting. Moderate, annual yield.
Fruits hold firmly on the tree.
Sufficiently winter-hardy in the Chelyabinsk region. In winter 1978-1979, at a temperature drop to -48.3°C, the mother tree suffered only 2 points of damage. Exhibits strong recovery ability. Highly resistant to scab and pear psylla.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness, resistance to scab and pear psylla, large, attractive marketable fruits with good flavor.
Disadvantages of the variety: tall tree.
