Amelior

Amélior — a mid-season hybrid of sweet corn, distinguished by high yield and excellent adaptation to various stress conditions during cultivation. This hybrid features a strong, balanced plant of medium height with medium ear attachment. Due to its high drought and heat tolerance, Amélior is successfully grown in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. The grain type is silken, ensuring good harvest quality, and the 1000-seed weight ranges from 310 to 330 grams. The hybrid belongs to the mid-season group with FAO 240 and is intended for grain production. It is characterized by high resistance to major corn diseases, including helminthosporiosis, aerial and blister smut, and ear fusarium. Drought resistance is rated at 9 points, lodging resistance at 8–9 points depending on growth phase, making it a reliable choice for various soil-climate conditions. Grain moisture content is at 7 points, facilitating timely harvest. Amélior exhibits ear flexibility (FLEX) and optimal agronomic traits, such as early growth (8 points) and stay green effect (7 points), ensuring prolonged green mass retention and high productivity. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 75–85 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 70–75 thousand under unstable water supply. This hybrid is a sales leader in its maturity group and has proven over time as a high-yielding and resilient variety under adverse conditions.
