Description DUDAR
Pea cultivar Dudar is a mid-maturing grain variety with a vegetative period ranging from 68 to 87 days. Plants reach a height of 51 to 88 cm, which is 20-40 cm lower compared to the standard Talovec 50 variety. Leaves have 2-3 pairs of medium-sized leaflets with very weak serration, stipules are well-developed, and flowers are white. Pods are straight with a slight bend and a blunt tip, containing 4 to 8 seeds of spherical and smooth shape with yellow cotyledons and a light hilum. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 180 to 235 g, which is slightly lower than in standard varieties. The Dudar variety is distinguished by high yield and resistance to unfavorable conditions. Average yield in the Central region is 25.7 c/ha, which is 3.2 c/ha higher than the average standard, and in the Voronezh region reaches 30.6 c/ha, surpassing the Talovec 50 standard by 2.7 c/ha. Maximum yield was recorded in the Vladimir region and amounted to 50.5 c/ha. The variety has high resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as increased drought resistance, which makes it suitable for cultivation in various regions, including the Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central-Black Earth, and Volga-Ural regions. Despite high productivity, the Dudar variety has strong susceptibility to some diseases, such as anthracnose, ascochytosis, root rot, and rust. Protein content in grains ranges from 21.2 to 25.7%, which ensures good taste qualities. Due to high technological ease of cultivation and the possibility of direct harvesting with minimal losses, this variety represents significant commercial value and is suitable for widespread use in agriculture.
