Zavodoukovsky 1 is a mid-early variety of field pea (Pisum sativum L.) intended for cultivation in various regions, including the Kemerovo region, Central-Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Middle Volga regions. The plants are leafless, reaching a height of 35 to 70 cm, which is 20-30 cm lower than standard varieties. The vegetative period lasts from 61 to 83 days. The stipules are well-developed, spotting is absent, flowers are white, and up to two flowers form at each node. The pods are moderately curved with a blunt apex, containing 5 to 8 seeds of oval shape with a smooth surface and yellow cotyledons. The variety is distinguished by high yield: average figures range from 16 to 22.9 c/ha depending on the region, with the maximum yield reaching 37 c/ha. The mass of 1000 seeds is 150-200 g, which is slightly lower than standard values. Protein content in the grain reaches up to 27%, which is 2.4% higher compared to some other varieties. Zavodoukovsky 1 has high resistance to lodging and shattering, though it is slightly inferior to standards in drought resistance. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to ascochitis, anthracnose, and root rots, which requires attention during cultivation. This pea variety is widely used in agriculture due to its high productivity and quality grain indicators. It is suitable for various agro-climatic conditions and can be used both for direct consumption and for processing. Thanks to the leafless form and compact plant height, the variety is convenient in agronomy and ensures stable yields with proper care and disease protection.
