Paulownia tomentosa is a fast-growing tree native to China, capable of reaching heights up to 12 meters. In its mature state, the plant typically grows about 500–600 cm tall with a trunk circumference of approximately 21 cm. When grown in a 45-liter pot, the tree maintains compact dimensions while demonstrating the characteristic rapid growth rate of the species.
One of the most attractive aspects of the Paulownia is its flowering. In April, before the leaves unfurl, tubular blue flowers with a pleasant scent appear on the tree. They are arranged in vertical inflorescences, creating a striking visual accent and drawing attention to the plant even in early spring.
Young Paulownia plants are distinguished by their large leaves, giving them a lush appearance. However, it is important to note that young trees are sensitive to low temperatures; therefore, when grown outdoors, protection from cold winds and frost is necessary.
