Paulownia 'Rusnovatsiya' – a fast-growing decorative tree from the Paulownia family, distinguished by its large, long-stalked leaves and bright bell-shaped flowers of a tender purple hue. The leaves feature a hairy outer surface and a felted inner surface, while the shoots reach lengths of up to one meter, remaining sturdy and resilient against wind loads. Blooming is abundant, with inflorescences forming loose, open panicles up to 30 cm in diameter, giving the tree an attractive appearance throughout the season.
The tree is characterized by high frost resistance – the 'Rusnovatsiya' variety can withstand temperatures down to -30 °C, making it suitable for planting in cold climatic conditions. With the correct planting scheme (approximately 5 meters between plants), the tree rapidly gains height and reaches 10–15 meters by its third year. Thanks to its lightweight, strong wood with a low shrinkage coefficient, Paulownia is widely used in furniture manufacturing, plywood production, and even shipbuilding.
Paulownia is also valued for its ecological properties: the plant's roots fix nitrogen, contributing to soil improvement, and its rapid growth rate allows for quick restoration of contaminated areas. In its youth, the tree requires regular watering – 8–10 liters per plant every ten days during the first two years. Despite its decorative appeal, 'Rusnovatsiya' also demonstrates resistance to pests and diseases, making it a reliable choice for both greening urban territories and commercial wood cultivation.
