Paulownia Cotevisa 2 is a clone created in a laboratory and grown via in vitro methods, ensuring virus-free status and 100% survival guarantee. The tree is highly resistant to frost down to ‑30 °C and has excellent drought tolerance, making it suitable for Ukraine's climate conditions.
The tree grows very fast: height can reach 4–5 m in the first year and up to 20 m in three years. Leaves grow rapidly, reaching over 60 cm in the first year, which ensures significant CO₂ absorption and improves soil quality thanks to its deep root system. The tree can be used for producing high-quality timber: green wood density is 700–800 kg/m³, and after seasoning, it is 300–310 kg/m³. Lightweight and strong wood is suitable for furniture, upholstery, light vessels, as well as for producing fiber, paper, and laminated beams.
Cotevisa 2 is characterized by disease resistance (blight, powdery mildew) and good adaptation to various soils. The tree has a straight trunk, an aesthetic appearance, and can be grown both in forestry and in garden compositions. Due to its high yield and ease of care, the variety is popular among timber producers and gardeners.
