Vesta

Vesta leek is an early-maturing variety that matures 120-135 days after sowing. In moderate climates, it is grown via seedlings: sowing is done in March, and seedlings are transplanted into the ground when they are 70 days old. The plant reaches a height of up to 140 cm, featuring light green, wide, and compact leaves with a slight waxy coating. The cylindrical 'leg' or false stem reaches a height of up to 30 cm and a diameter of about 4 cm, with a marketable mass ranging from 200 to 350 g. The leek has a sweet taste, making it attractive for fresh consumption.

The Vesta variety boasts high marketable yield, reaching up to 6 kg per square meter. To obtain a powerful and blanched false stem, hilling the plant as it grows is recommended. The leek is well-suited for processing as well as fresh and dried consumption. It can be stored for 2-3 months, ensuring ease of use and product realization.

Additionally, Vesta leek has good resistance to diseases and pests, facilitating its cultivation for both experienced agronomists and novice gardeners. The variety's versatility and ease of care make it an excellent choice for various growing conditions. The recommended planting scheme is 7-10 cm between plants and 50-60 cm between rows, promoting optimal development and high yield.
