ELEPHANT MS

Elephant MS leek is a late-maturing, high-yielding variety intended for autumn harvest. The plant forms a large rosette of long, erect leaves with a dark blue-green color and a strong waxy coating, which helps maintain freshness for an extended period after harvest. The leaves have a sharp taste, and the length of the edible part is 15-20 cm. The bulb of this variety is weakly developed and practically not narrowed at the base, which is characteristic of leeks. The Elephant MS variety is distinguished by high frost resistance and can withstand temperatures down to -15 °C, ensuring good overwintering and the possibility of storing the harvest until spring. It is recommended to grow on loamy and sandy soils in sunny conditions, with sowing in the open ground from March to April or for seedlings from the first half of April to June. The average yield is 320-380 centners per hectare, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation. Elephant MS is suitable both for fresh consumption and for canning. The plant prefers moderate watering, especially during soil drying, which contributes to the formation of a quality harvest. Thanks to its characteristics and frost resistance, this variety is a reliable choice for growing in regions with a cold climate and provides a stable and quality harvest.
