STUTTGARTER-STENFELD

Stuttgarter-Stenfeld onion is an improved variety of the popular Stuttgarter Riesen onion, valued both by farmers and amateur gardeners. It belongs to early onion varieties with a maturation period of about 250–270 days. The bulbs have an oval-flat shape, with an average weight ranging from 100 to 250 grams, sometimes reaching 300 grams. The onion skin is an attractive yellow-brown color, the flesh is white, juicy, and has a slightly semi-sharp taste, making this variety ideal for culinary use. Due to its high dry matter content, the onion is suitable for drying, freezing, and canning.

The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and can withstand frosts without cover, allowing it to be grown both as a winter and spring crop. The onion is resistant to diseases and pests, and does not bolt, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield. Due to the formation of abundant green mass, the variety is excellent for growing greens. The yield is from 4 to 6 kg per square meter.

One of the main advantages of Stuttgarter-Stenfeld is its excellent storability — the onion retains its market qualities and taste during storage for up to 8 months, allowing it to be used throughout the winter and spring.
