Description Sigma
Onion variety Sigma is a medium-maturing vegetable with a medium-sized rounded bulb. The dry scales have a yellow color, their number is 2-3, and the juicy scales are white. The bulb has a thin neck and a two- or three-chamber structure. The onion has a sharp taste, which makes it attractive for various culinary purposes. The dry matter content in the bulb reaches 17.5%, and total sugar – 12.1%, with a bulb mass of 60 to 80 grams.

The Sigma variety is recommended for growing as both a one-year crop from seeds and a two-year one from seed onions. The optimal sowing scheme for seeds is 20 by 5 cm, and for seed onions – 25 by 8 cm. Onion yield is high and reaches 5-7 kg per square meter, which corresponds to a marketable yield of 24-26 tons per hectare. Onion is well suited for long-term storage, which allows it to be used for a long time after harvesting.

One of the important advantages of the Sigma variety is its increased resistance to downy mildew, which reduces the risk of crop losses and reduces the need for frequent use of plant protection products. This makes this variety attractive for farmers striving to obtain a quality and stable onion crop.
